Bactrol was established in 1996 as an independent supplier of hygiene chemicals, training and consultancy services to the food and catering industries. Since then, the company has expanded its operations into the healthcare market and other industries for which hygiene control is a critical concern.

Today, Bactrol offers an extensive range of products and custom manufacturing capabilities, with all formulation work and production processes carried out in house, at the company's purpose built facility, which also contains a fully equipped research and development laboratory.

In addition to its manufacturing work, Bactrol offers a comprehensive range of hygiene training and consultancy services. The company's managing director, Andrew Libberton (CChem FRSC) is a registered trainer with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, and is a recognised provider of hygiene training for Environmental Health Officers and other industry professionals.
