The programme is designed for all food handlers and covers the roll of bacteria in food poisoning and food spoilage.

Level 2 Food Microbiology

The programme is designed for all food handlers, supervisors and managers of food businesses and covers the roll of bacteria in food poisoning and food spoilage. It looks in detail at the growth requirements of bacteria and how environmental factors can influence the growth rates of different bacteria. The duration is approximately 6 hours and concludes with a multiple choice test. The Level 2 Certificate in Food Microbiology is awarded to all able to demonstrate appropriate knowledge on the subject.
